Well, after missing the past two Monday nights... I should be back this evening!

My play list is ready to go and at this moment, the day is going well. However, at around 11am here, we lost all power. My wife and I live above our business here on the Centerville, Iowa town square... the entire town square was without power. We finally had power back about an hour and a half later.

At this moment, I've not yet heard if Mike Hartman will make it or not.

Once Again, I Will Miss My Show

Hello Bluegrass Mix Listeners,

Due to my business building having the front door rammed in during an attempted robbery at 11 AM yesterday, I won't be broadcasting my show tonight.

There is much to do... working with the insurance adjuster and contractors to be able to have my business open later this week. Right now the front entrance is boarded over because the perpetrator destroyed the front door with his Toyota Prius to gain access to the building. What makes this story more alarming is that my wife and I live on the second floor.

There is much more to the story but I would rather not share it here.

As I mentioned last week here on the blog, I hope to be back next Monday night.

Hi folks,

Thanks for bearing with me missing our Blockbuster Monday night party due to SCHOOL!

I teach in a college that has five-week terms, and I just got assigned another five weeks of teaching English on Monday nights! But I don't have to be there until later, so I've decided to move my show up from 5 to 7 PM Eastern at least for the next five weeks!

I hope y'all can make it! And of course I will be here Wednesdays as well from 4 to 6 PM.

Monday Night And Daylight Saving Time.... UGHH!

Hello Bluegrass Mix Listeners!

I don't know about you but I really don't like whole Daylight Saving Time thing. I don't usually get enough sleep but then we lose one hour of sleep this time of year.... ughh (ok, I will step down from my soap box)

At this moment, Sky Powers is sitting in for Teri Ann as she is back to teaching an evening class now that the over 14 inches of snow has melted some in her neck of the woods.

To the best of my knowledge, Mike Hartman will be in tonight.... I hope! Sometimes his day job spills over into the evening hours.

I hope you can join me for my Deep Cut Bluegrass Show @ 10pm Eastern time.

Earlier this past week I found out that BluegrassRadio.Org, the longest running and most respected of internet radio stream will be shutting down their internet streams on 1 Apr 09. Mr Clyde Scott has had quality bluegrass music streaming for over 5 years.

Clyde stated that he wanted to invest his time and money into his grandchildren and I can understand where he is coming from there. Running the Bluegrass Mix is also very time consuming, especially when a "Day" job is involved.

We would like to welcome all of the listeners of BluegrassRadio.Org to try us out for a while once Clyde shuts down. No.. we're not BluegrassRadio.org, and there may never be another one like it, but we're proud of what we have.

To accomodate those listeners that would rather listen to just music and not DJ hosted live shows, we will add a separate stream with just that. However the prerecorded syndicated shows of Terry Herd - "Into The Blue", Cindy Baucom - "Knee Deep in Bluegrass" and Gene Skinner - "Great Stuff Bluegrass" will still be aired on that additional stream for the time being.

We here at the Bluegrass Mix wish Clyde and his family all the best, but are saddened by the upcoming loss of such fine bluegrass programming.

President's Day and Bluegrass Music

Here we are... another Monday night and it's officially President's Day!

From what I understand, we will have Teri Ann back with us @ 6pm Eastern time because the evening class she is teaching will not meet because of the holiday.

We should have Mike Hartman on following Teri Ann then my show @ 10pm.

This week, I've been a little disappointed that the new Michael Martin Murphey "Buckaroo Blue Grass" project has not yet been released as a digital download from any of the online stores. I hope it is soon. These days, if I can get a CD via a digital download, I prefer that to buying a CD.

Modified Monday Night Blockbuster

Hello Bluegrass Music/Mix Fans,

Just got word that Teri Ann will be gone from our Monday Night Blockbuster as she's teaching another class for a few weeks.... bummer.

So our Monday night is somewhat modified.... not sure, maybe Sky Powers could sit in for Teri.

At this moment, I'm assuming Mike Hartman will still be with us @ 8pm Eastern.

On my show, Deep Cut Bluegrass (10pm Eastern), I will have new music from Pam Gadd, Steve Martin (banjo music from the wild and crazy guy) and a new group to me, The Wheeler Band.

Temporary Schedule Change

I hope this finds everyone well in the new year and that everyone is having a safe, healthy, and happy 2009!

I just wanted to let the listeners know that my Monday show will temporarily (hopefully!) be moved to Tuesday nights the same time 6 to 8 PM Eastern.  I am teaching an English Literature class on Monday nights for the next 11 weeks.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone.... I hope you all enjoy a peaceful, happy, holiday season and have a great 2009!  I hope it will be your best year yet!

I will not be doing my show today due to an unexpected but PLEASANT surprise!  My husband got off early from work and we are about to go out for a nice Christmas eve dinner.

I will be in Nashville next week but I am bringing my laptop and HOPE to still do a show on Monday as long as the hotel has wireless!  I definitely won't be doing a show on New Year's Eve, however, as I will be seeing Del & the Boys, the Stringdusters, and the Emmitt-Nershi Band at the Ryman Auditorium!  If anyone is in Nashville next week and would like to Mash on Tuesday night at the Station Inn, or get together maybe on Monday (no plans as of yet!), send me an email to TeriAnnMcLean@aol.com because I will be checking my email from my phone or laptop!

10 Days Until Christmas....

Hello Bluegrass Mix Fans,

Sorry to have missed last Monday night's broadcast.

Tonight, if all goes well, I will be playing all Christmas music during my Deep Cut Bluegrass show beginning @ 10pm Eastern on The Bluegrass Mix.

As I'm writing this, I've not heard from either Teri Ann or Mike Hartman... but I'm assuming they will be broadcasting tonight as well. Although, I'm not sure what songs they have on their play lists but I'm sure there will be some Christmas songs!

It's very cold here in Iowa today... right now it is -3 degrees and the high is only expected to be about 10 above.
