Severe Weather on Long Island!

Howdy listeners!

Well not only do we hardly EVER get tornadoes on Long Island, but we neverrrrr get warnings for them in my town! This is exciting stuff here, haha. I’m sure many of you in "Bluegrass Country" are used to this sort of thing, but I was scared to death driving home towards clouds that were funneling together right in front of me! Major excitement! So far this week alone we’ve had two water spouts (a tornado over water) right in the Long Island Sound which is, oh, a block from me LOL!!!

The Tornado Warning has been lifted for now by the National Weather Service but the local weatherman thinks it will be reissued later when more severe thunderstorms move through, and he said tornadoes are still possible even now. Yikes!

So! I’ll be shutting off my electric and hanging out in my basement with my cat, my bird and my guitar. I may or may not be online for my show later so if anyone wants it, please do it!

Where Has The Summer Gone?

Hey Mixers,

Is it just me or is Summer going by quicker than usual? There must be some connection between my perception and all the severe weather we've had. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Here we are at another Monday night here on the Bluegrass Mix.

To the best of my knowledge, until I learn otherwise, Teri Ann should be here @ 6pm Eastern and of course our resident "Humorist Extraordinaire" Mike Hartman @ 8pm. I should be in by 10pm for my show Deep Cut Bluegrass.

One more thing I want to mention... it's so cool for the station to now have 4 new syndicated Bluegrass Music shows:

  • Terry Herd - "Into The Blue"

  • Cindy Baucom - "Deep In Bluegrass"

  • Gene and Rebecca Skinner - "Great Show -Gospel"

  • Gene and Rebecca Skinner - "Great Show - Bluegrass"

Be sure to check the station's Schedule and Hosts pages for more details!

I hope you can join us here tonight on The Bluegrass Mix!

Monday Night In America...

Hey Mixers,

It's Monday night in America and to the best of my knowledge Teri Ann McLean, Mike Hartman and I are ready for another block buster night of Bluegrass Music.

It's a hot one here in Centerville, Iowa today. We're suppose to top out @ 98 degrees today with a Heat Index of over 100.

So... tonight beginning @ 6pm Eastern make some fresh iced tea (make sure you have plenty of ice) and join us tonight for the "Monday Night Bluegrass Mix Block Buster" as Teri Ann kicks things off.

Problems with our website

For those of you who had problems bringing up our site Friday and Sat morning, (www.bluegrassmix.com) we have located the culprit in the sitemeter hit counter code.
Thanks to Michael Browns who tracked down the offender.
I have temporarily removed the sitemeter sode from the website on "Most" of the pages as I suspect that it will soon be fixed on their end and I will re-insert it.

Hope everybody has a nice weekend and that you're taking in some live bluegrass shows in your area. If not then stay tuned right here at The Bluegrass Mix for the very best in FREE bluegrass programming.
